During a time of patriotism like the days of September 11th, it's important to remember who we are and where we come from. History hasn't always been one of my most favorite subjects, but I've found a site that offers an interactive look at America's History.
America's Story from America's Library is an extension of the Library of Congress in Washington, DC. It's the nation's library, and the largest in the world. Did you know the library was burned down during the War of 1812? Thomas Jefferson donated his personal library after the British set fire the Capitol building where the library was kept?
With its interactive features, bright colors, streaming video, and vivid images, the site allows people to learn about history while having a great time.
There is a great game called Dynamite Presidents, where you answer questions about our past presidents and watch as your correct answers blow up dynamite helping to build Mt. Rushmore.
For patriotic screen savers, look at Second Nature Software. There you can download a number of images, including US flags and the New York City skyline.
You can visit the website Here! America's Library
